Entrepreneurial Journalism Program – Course of Study

We are optimists about the future of news. We believe the future of journalism will be shaped by entrepreneurs who develop new business models and innovative projects – either working on their own or within traditional media companies.

Our entrepreneurial program includes a one-semester course of study culminating in an Advanced Certificate in Entrepreneurial Journalism. Students in the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism’s three-semester program have the option of completing this additional one-semester course of study and receiving the nation’s first M. A. in Entrepreneurial Journalism (effective with the 2012 program).

The five-course module is designed to prepare mid-career journalists and graduate journalism students not only to start businesses or to work in startups, but to bring innovation into media companies.
